The Position/Role

The Engineer 3’s function is to provide and maintain a safe environment for the Resort Guests and the Employees and to insure a positive Guest Experience. The EOD is responsible for maintaining all of the facility equipment including, but not limited to: kitchen equipment, refrigeration equipment, laundry equipment, HVAC equipment, boilers, pool equipment and lighting. The Engineer 3 will perform Preventative Maintenance to ensure that all Guest Rooms, Public Areas, Back of House and the Resort Mechanical Systems and Equipment are in perfect condition.

 

Responsibilities

  • Properly open department and complete various tasks – Obtain Daily Log Sheet from Office, review logbook / Duty
  • Engineer Key Ring, Daily Assignment Sheet, Work Orders, P/M Work Orders.
  • Understand and Implement Engineering Safety Protocols/Standards – Lock Out / Tag Out Procedure, Kitchen
  • Equipment, Air Handlers, Boilers & Chillers, Emergency Equipment and Personal Protective Equipment, Safety work habits, Knowledge of Radio Communication Codes, Material Safety Data Sheet.
  • Respond to guest calls regarding maintenance of rooms and equipment in rooms or public area in a timely manner.
  • Identifying and following Elevator Operation Procedure – Elevator Failure, Guests Rescue Procedure, Elevator
  • Equipment Rooms.
  • Check various systems/areas of resort – EMS /BAS System Alarms, Monthly Utility Meter Readings, Monthly Utility Meter Readings, Chiller Room / Central Plant, Boiler Room, Cooling Towers, Laundry, Steam Boilers, Pool Equipment Room/Cleaner, Public Area, etc.
  • Maintain and repair Kitchen Equipment: convection ovens, braising pans, steam generators, soup kettles, ovens, flat top/standard burner stoves, and dishwashers.
  • Maintain and repair Refrigeration Systems such as: walk-in coolers, walk-in freezers, reach-in refrigeration systems, ice machines, and mini-bar units.
  • Maintain Mechanical Equipment: Air Handlers, Boilers, Pumps, and Chillers.
  • Provide temporary electrical power set-ups for exhibits and conventions.
  • Basic Electrical Maintenance: electrical outlet replacement, GFIC maintenance and testing, motor replacement, and lamp repairs.
    Replace and Repair bearings, gears, belts, shafts, control mechanism on Kitchen & Laundry equipment.
    Repair of electrical appliances: toasters, microwaves, vacuums, etc.
    Assist guests with requests such as VCR/VCP operation, Sega and Play Station game hook-ups, and On Command Video System, etc.
    Maintain and adjust temperatures and pressures in Heating and Cooling systems.
    Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by management

 

Who You Are

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of 2 years of related experience and/or trade school training.
  • Previous resort experience highly preferred.
  • Requires a working technical knowledge of General building maintenance
  • On-the-Job training or experience along with professional certifications in Refrigeration and HVAC Systems
  • Must be flexible with schedule – Able to work weekdays, weekends, holidays, evening/overnight shifts.
  • Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language
  • Physically able to lift up to 100 lbs and be on feet for majority of shift (includes stair/ladder climbing)
  • Able to walk / run up and down stairs carrying a tool pouch
  • Able to work under variable temperatures between 0 to120 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Ability to multi-task in a high volume and demanding environment.
  • Strong problem solving skills, ability to handle difficult situations and guests.

  • Valid Driver’s License required and clean driving record.
